Brantôme is 6 km away, a beautiful town dubbed the Venice of the Perigord. Encircled by the River Dronne, its a popular starting point for boat trips and kayaking. Lots of restaurants in the area and 2 supermarkets. There's also a market in Brantôme on Friday mornings and another in Thiviers on Saturday mornings. The Plus Beaux village of Saint Jean de Cole is only 7 km away – the Chateau de la Marthonie and Romanesque Byzantine church sit overlooking a charming market square, with the River Cole nearby. In Villars (6 km away) you can visit the caves and buy some very nice minerals and gemstones. Or get impressed by the serene and beautiful energy around the old abbye. Visit the medieval city of Perigueux, or the more modern city of Angoulême. Or.. or... gardens, castles, caves, rivers, woods, markets and events, so much to do!
The village of Champagnac de Belair has a very good bakery and a public open air swimming pool during the summer months if the on site pool isn't big enough for you. The river Dronne is on the other site of the road to our campsite and the campsite is surrounded by forest for endless walks.
Food & Drink
It's all self catering here. The nearest boulangerie is in Champagnac De Belair. We go there every morning and we can provide your breakfast. There's also a very, very good restaurant called Moulin Du Roc , a local favourite. Large supermarkets and further bars and restaurants can be found in Brantôme. And we provide everything you need to prepare your own meal on the campsite.
