Book a luxury canvas experience in our 6m diameter large canvas bell tent. Taking inspiration from Sydney Pollack's Oscar-winning film, 'Out of Africa' we have created a colonial style safari atmosphere to offer you complete escapism. The tent benefits from a stunning south west facing lakeside view in a secluded enclave for a perfect romantic break. With the odd plane to be heard towing a glider and a safari hat hanging from the tent pole you'll feel like Robert Redford may return any minute!

Located away from the main camping field to offer privacy, yet the washroom facilities are no more than 250 meters away. Sleep like a dream in luxury bedding, sink into your memory foam mattress, with only the canvas between you and the night sky above. Connect with nature whilst enjoying the luxury you deserve; wake to the sound of bird song and the rustle of leaves, unwind and reconnect. If you have children why not bring them too. They will love the adventure and can top and tail on the daybed or use the safari camp bed also provided.

For outdoor activities there’s neighbouring Avalanche Adventure (01858 880613) and The Gliding Centre (01858 880521) at Husbands Bosworth Airfield less than five minutes down the road; both bookable in advance. More sedate alternatives include 18th-century Cottesbrooke Hall (01604 505808) and Althorp House (01604 770107; July-August), the latter being the Spencer family estate, home to Princess Diana’s island grave and a museum. The Kilworth House Hotel (01858 881939), a 10-minute drive away, also has an excellent outdoor theatre in a beautiful wooded glade close to the lake in the grounds of the house.

Food & Drink

On selected Saturday and summer holiday Tuesday evenings in the summer a woodfired pizza horsebox arrives to make on-site dinners easy; check with reception for availability during your stay. Off site, The Red Lion in Sibbertoft (01858 880011) does great food and is just a mile away and The Wharf Inn at Welford (01858 575075), can be reached by footpath from the site. There's lots more information about places to eat out in the local area on site.
