Fall asleep to the hush of the woods & the gentle hums of nearby alpacas. Surrounded by woodland, wildflower meadows & alpaca paddocks, this luxury shepherd's hut is equipped with everything you'll need for a relaxing time away. Located on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, it's just a 20 minute drive to York or 5 minutes to the pretty market town of Pocklington.
As a self-catering shepherd's hut, you'll find everything you need for a perfect stay.
The Heartwood boasts a cosy log burning stove, double glazed windows, and a king-size bed with luxurious bedding and plenty of storage.
Cook in the well-equipped kitchenette. The property also has a modern bathroom with toilet, sink and rainfall shower. Outdoors, you'll find a private area with views of meadows and woodland, an outdoor swinging chair for two, chiminea & a Scandinavian style wood fired hot tub for two so you can soak in all those stars.
There is one bedroom in this cabin which contains a king size bed with luxury bedding and plenty of storage.
There is one modern bathroom, which has a toilet and sink and a rainfall shower.
Linen and towels, dressing gowns and slippers are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.
The property is powered by solar and there is no TV.  There is no WIFI - we advise you to bring a laptop or tablet & pre-download films or programmes if you wish to watch something during your stay! There are USB charging points in the property to charge your devices.
The Botanist is just a 20 minute drive from the City of York or if you drive the opposite direction -  just 40 minutes to Hull. Although you'll be surrounded by open fields  & farmland - it's just a 5 minute drive to the pretty market town of Pocklington where you'll find lots of lovely pubs, restaurants, gardens, shops & supermarkets.
If you love water -  we're just a few miles away from Pocklington Canal & Allerthorpe Lake -and less than an hour drive to the nearest beach!
If cycling is your cup of tea - you'll be pleased to know that we're on the Yorkshire Wolds Way cycling and walking route.
You'll be spoilt for choice with stuff to do - places nearby include  - The Deep, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Bridlington Beach, Castle Howard, Flamingo Land, The Northwood Trail, The Buddhist Centre & York Minster to name a just a few!
The Botanist is surrounded by fabulous places to eat and drink - some of these include The Balloon Tree - a popular farm shop and café in nearby Stamford Bridge.
If you fancy a good ol' country pub - there's the Boot & Slipper just 2 miles away.
We also recommend The Buddhist Centre which has a lovely café with the most beautiful surroundings and walks.
Burnby Hall gardens is also a great place to visit - they have a nice café too and gorgeous gardens and fish ponds.

Suitable For

Dogs are not permitted - we love dogs - but our alpacas don't! We allow families with children on our campsite. As we are a quiet site, we do not allow groups. The Shepherd's Huts are for adults only. The wild camping field is suitable for tents only.

We are just a 20 minute drive from the City of York or if you drive the opposite direction - we're just 40 minutes to Hull. Although you're surrounded by open fields - it's just a 5 minute drive to the pretty market town of Pocklington where you'll find lots of lovely pubs, restaurants, gardens & shops. If you love water -  we're just a few miles away from Pocklington Canal & Allerthorpe Lake -and less than an hour drive to the nearest beach!  If cycling is your cup of tea - you'll be pleased to know that we're on the Yorkshire Wolds Way cycling and walking route - we have a dedicated space for those who are bringing their bikes.
