Nearby

We are in an accessible location to explore the whole of Cornwall. Locally the beaches are the main attraction; Praa Sands, Porthleven and Rinsey are the nearest – all are popular surf spots, with Praa Sands ideal for families, while Porthleven can have stronger currents so is sometimes best left to the pros. RNLI lifeguards are on watch throughout summer holiday season. It's around a mile and a half to the South West Coastal Path, from which all beaches can be reached or, of course, you can continue along miles of the coastline. For a little culture, two of the best National Trust properties are within easy reach – the tidal island of St Michaels Mount (01736 710507) and grand Godolphin House and Gardens(01736 763194)

Food & Drink

A small onsite shop sells local bacon and sausages, bread, eggs, milk and other essentials during peak season. There is a pub in Ashton (01736 763227) – serving traditional pub grub – that's about a 15 minute walk away. There's another in Breage (01326 564229), about 30 minutes' walk or a 5 minute drive. Amenities at Praa Sands beach include the Sandbar (01736 763516), while nearby Porthleven has the greatest number of bars, pubs and restaurants with some of the best chefs in the county.
