South Town is a very small, relaxed, friendly site ideal for couples and families.  Our car free camp fields make for a peaceful, relaxing place for grown ups and a safe place for children to play and explore.

As a family of committed campers ourselves, our aim is to create the kind of site we prefer to visit. Our campsite, like our farm, is extensive with just 10 pitches over 6 acres and is run with an eco ethic and a respect for nature.  Our generously sized pitches are very well spaced, mown into wild flower meadows with mown paths leading to each pitch. All pitches enjoy uninterrupted views of woodland and meadows, we have super sunset views to the west and, on a clear night South Town is a great place to enjoy a starry sky.  Leave your car in the carpark and use our super sized wheelbarrows to transport your kit a short distance across our level fields to your chosen pitch.  South Town is an off grid site so please remember to pack a reliable torch!   We can freeze your ice blocks for you and supply logs for your campfire.

Take a short adventure following our farm trail across fields through a wild wood and across a stream.  For longer walks the Arlington Estate offers miles of foot paths and bridleways through stunning woodland straight from your tent.  Enjoy an evening by the camp fire, watch bats and maybe spot a hedgehog out hunting for worms – there is plenty for the budding naturalist to explore.

Booking Policy

  • Campers:  arrival times between  9 a.m. and 8 p.m. please let us know if you are delayed, we'll look out for you as our site is tricky to navigate in the dark!   Latest departure 12.30 p.m.
  • Shepherd's Hut Visitors:  arrival between 3.30 p.m. and 8 p.m.  latest departure 11 a.m.
  • All Bedding and cooking equipment are included in the hire of the Shepherd's Hut, there is a picnic table, fire pit and small bbq for your own use during your stay.
  • We want all of our visitors to enjoy our peaceful site, we ask that no piped music or radios are played and that quiet hours are respected between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • You are welcome to have a camp fire in a fire pit or bbq raised above the ground to protect our grass.  We have a number of fire pits available to borrow free of charge.
  • Sorry, no dogs on site as our livestock often graze the fields around the campfields.

Cancellation Policy

  • Deposits taken at the time of booking are non refundable.
  • Cancellations made more than 21 days before the holiday start date will be refunded (minus your non-refundable deposit paid at time of booking)
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations within 21 days of arrival date, however please let us know if you need to cancel as soon as possible, if we are able to re sell your booking we could offer a refund.  Deposits are non refundable.
  • No refunds for bad weather, late arrivals or early departures.
