South Hoggs Hideaway

We are a small family run campsite in Devon close to the border of Cornwall and feel very lucky to have beaches and many beautiful places close by. Owning a campsite has been our dream for many years and we are excited for the season ahead. We fell in love with the site straight away and could see the potential for a remarkable site. There is a lake and wooded area close to the camping area that is absolutely beautiful and we are keen to keep it as natural as possible as there is a lot of wildlife using this space. Often you will see geese on the water or a deer running past as well as countless birds and insects. 

We also ask that children are always supervised by a parent or guardian to prevent accidents and that there is no going in the water.

We want to be as environmentally friendly as we can be and we will do this by recycling as much as we can, making as little impact on the site as possible, using rainwater, composting, using local produce, reintroducing hedges and planting trees. That is why we chose to become part of the greener camping club as they have a “passion for sustainable, low impact camping holidays”

Booking Policy

  • Check-in: 15:00- 20:00
  • Check-out: 10:00-11:00
  • Well behaved dogs are permitted on site in the camping pitches but not in the bell tent.  We kindly ask you to clean up after them and keep them on a lead at all times unless in the designated exercise area
  • Campfires are permitted in the fire pits provided only, please do not light a fire on the ground.
  • NO disposable BBQ's
  • Please respect your fellow campers and keep noise to a minimum from 22:00-07:00
  • Children must be supervised at all times.
  • No swimming in the lake.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 30 days before the holiday start date are subject to your 30% non-refundable deposit paid.
  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the holiday start date will not be refunded.
  • We suggest you take out the necessary holiday insurance to cover any losses.
