An authentic camping experience set in rural Fife with great access to Falkland Estate - a 4500 acre area which was once the rural retreat of Royal Stuarts). There is no need to go far to find an adventure (or a quiet spot) when you are here.  For those looking for more to do within a short distance,  St Andrews is a short drive or bus journey, and travel to Edinburgh or Dundee is very accessible with local train and bus services.
The campsite is situated in a field in plain view of East Lomond (or Falkland Hill as it is known locally). This hill is the site of an Iron-Age Hill-fort which offers a great hike for anyone looking to be more active, and a wonderful sight to sit and enjoy a morning cuppa or an evening refreshment.   Plenty space to run about with the kids, with a small burn, lots of trees, many walks, and generally be outside and take slower pace to life.

Booking Policy

  • Camping, Campervan, and Bothy guests are invited to arrive before 5pm.  Access to the Bothy, and to the Camping and Caravan Fields, is from 2pm.
  • Campervan and Camping guests must arrive in good time to be set up no later 8pm. Camping facilities are open for use 24 hours.
  • Cars should not be taken on the camping field unless your require specific assistance. This should be discussed with a member of staff prior to your stay
  • Bothy Guests can access the property using the key in the key safe (details in your confirmation email)
  • Dogs are welcome to stay with responsible owners
  • Guests are asked to be checked out of the Bothy by 10am, and camping and Campervan field by 11am

Cancellation Policy

  • Pillars of Hercules require a minimum 21 days notice to cancel or reschedule a camping, camper van, or Bothy booking.
  • Cancellations made less than 21 days before the date of the booking will be charged in full.
  • If the cancellation is made within the notice period, a partial fee of 50% of the full booking cost will be charged.
  • In the unlikely event that Pillars of Hercules need to cancel a booking, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.
  • Any amendments you would like to make to your booking should be communicated through email/phone no less than 48 hrs before your stay, otherwise we may not be able to accommodate your request.
