Easy driving distance- on the North coast, Conwy with one of Edward I's great castles and its complete belt of medieval town walls. Nearby is Bodnant Garden, Wales' finest formal garden. The Conwy Valley is home to Surf Snowdonia,- a £7.7 million surf centre, with a 300m lagoon. Situated 2 miles from the Barn in Dolgarogg. Just overlooking the farm is the iron-age fort of Pen-y-Gaer. Nearby lie the remains of the Roman fort at Caerhun which, through an ancient drove, accessed through the picturesque town of Rowen. Cyclists are well served with the close-by Coed-y-Brenin being the spiritual home of the UK's mountain biking scene; or bike through the beautiful Gwydir forest. Kayakers and canoeists regularly base themselves at the barn while they go and explore the caves of Anglesey and the varied lakes and rivers the area is famous for.
Food & Drink
There are two pubs nearby, one of them within easy walking distance (1/4 of a mile) and one a 16th Century village inn only a mile away. Just to the South is Llanrwst, a bustling market town with great food options and many surprises, and then Betws-y-Coed "the gateway to Snowdonia."
