The Hayloft (0 at Cwmffrwd Farm)
UK Wales South Wales Monmouthshire Abergavenny Cwmffrwd Farm
The Owner Says
Our beautiful Welsh Hayloft - or 'crog loft' - as they used to be known, with its rustic stone walls and high-beamed ceilings, is totally self-contained.
Set in the grounds of our welcoming family home with 360⁰ mountain views, twenty two acres of stunning wildflower meadows and access directly onto the Black Mountains, the Hayloft has its own outdoor patio space with BBQ and picnic bench. A private car parking space is also located next to this. Inside, you'll find a spacious open plan living area with lounge (and fire), dining area, galley style kitchen, mezzanine double bedroom and large second bedroom. The bathroom has both a roll top bath and a large walk-in shower.
We also have a beautiful wood-fired sauna on the farm that can be booked for use during your stay. Talk to Pridie and James about this if you would like to find out more :)
The kitchen includes an electric oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. Bedding and towels are provided, along with tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cloths, toilet rolls and kitchen towel. Wifi is also provided.
Dogs are very welcome. I'm afraid we can't host cats. We just ask that dogs don't go on the beds or furniture, and that muddy paws and wet fur are dried at the door using the towels provided. Maximum two dogs per stay usually, although do get in touch if you'd like to bring more. Please don't leave dogs unattended at the property and please keep them on leads around the farm and in the meadows (we have chickens, sheep and cattle grazing around the farm). The dog poo bin is located by the front gate.
Walk info is provided in the welcome folder, but give us a shout if you'd like to chat about where to go - we love to help you plan your activities while you stay and there's so much to do locally!
Additional info:
The Hayloft adjoins the main farmhouse but is its own separate dwelling accessed via its own parking space, patio area and front door.
The farm is an extremely welcoming space with friendly hosts, swings in the meadows for little (and big) ones and plenty of information available about walks, outdoors sports, eating out etc from hosts Pridie and James. In the summer months, the farm meadows host a small campsite - a nature haven for children and adults alike away from the bustle of the towns and cities.

About Cwmffrwd Farm
Suitable For
Cwmffrwd Farm is the perfect rural retreat for those seeking a wilder kind of camping experience - it's all about nature and space! Tent, campervan and bell tent pitches are spaciously spread out across the meadows, with an average of seven pitches in each four acre field. Each booking has their own pitch in the wildflower meadows with a maximum of one tent / one van / one bell tent and six people per pitch. Tent pitches (7m x 5m) are located along the top of the camping fields boasting an epic view down the valley, and van pitches (VW/transit size) are located along the bottom of the meadows gazing up at the surrounding mountains. The bell tents are snuggled away in their own mountain meadow. Parking for all pitches is just as you enter the first field and there are plenty of wheelbarrows available for you to get your kit to your pitch. We can also help if the 4x4 is home. Dogs are very welcome, but we ask you to keep them on a lead or a tether at all times and be extra vigilant when it comes to clearing up after them. A bin is provided for this.Nearby
Guests can walk out onto it straight onto the Waun Fach mountain range from the farm. It’s 12 minutes drive to picturesque Crickhowell, and 25 minutes to celebrated book town Hay-on-Wye and bustling market town Brecon.
