Valley View Luxury Cabin has prime position on our site near the stream and waterfall. Valley View Luxury Cabin is designed for couples looking for a romantic Whitby break with extra space for relaxation or work.

Valley View is equipped with all the conveniences of a self-catering chalet. It has a living area with TV and DVD player, a dining area and a kitchenette. There are two gas rings, a microwave/grill and a fridge/freezer. And a basic barbecue on the porch. Centrally heated,Valley View also has a log burner for extra cosiness and a chiminea so guests can enjoy the large terrace all year round.

The luxury bathroom in Valley View Log Cabin has a monsoon hydro shower and plunge bath. We provide bedding and towels and a small welcome pack.

Parking is at the top of the hill; the walk down is about 50 metres and though there is a hand rail, it is only suitable for guests who are steady on their feet.

Minimum stay in Valley View is two nights, check in Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Though from Easter to October weekend stays are three nights.

We encourage longer stays to fully enjoy the experience of a woodland retreat.

In July and August bookings are Monday to Friday, or Friday to Monday. Or seven nights.

About Whitby Log Cabins

Suitable For

We are an adult only site, a romantic haven for couples, or a base for two friends to enjoy quality time together. We are particularly with popular guests who want to park the car for their stay as walks from the site include Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay circulars.

Our wildlife is important to us, and we also have a menagerie including ducks and chickens. For this reason we do not allow dogs on site.

The routes to the Cinder Track and pub are via varied terrain so because of this, and the layout of our site, Valley View is only suited to the able bodied.

We are at the end of a single track road and although there are plenty of parking spaces drivers may have to reverse occasionally. We welcome visitors arriving by public transport and will meet you whenever possible.

Nearby

We are between the moors and the sea. The walking in the Whitby area is extensive and varied and most of our guests do not use the car during their stay. We are only two miles from the quaint and bustling seaside town of Whitby, and guests enjoy the 40 minute walk along the Cinder Track. This all weather former railway line for walkers and cyclists, leads to Whitby in one direction and Robin Hoods Bay or Scarborough in the other. Cliff tops routes are another option and the views and breathtaking.

Whitby has two miles of sandy beach with a surf school in the summer. The town itself has winding streets, quaint cafes and bars, pubs with live music and lots of special events including the famous ‘Steampunk week-end’. You can find out more about the towns’ past, from dinosaurs and fossils to Captain Cook, in the town's museums. There is even a Dracula museum marking the birthplace of the story which was inspired by Whitby Abbey and surrounds.

The circular walk to Robin Hoods Bay is a full day out, but there is also the option of a bus back. The jurassic sandstone beach at Robin Hoods Bay is a favourite with fossil hunters. And the village, a former smugglers haunt, is a fascinating myriad of tiny streets and cottages.

Other iconic villages in the North York Moors National Park include Goatland of Hearbeat and Harry Pottter fame and Grosmont, the Northern terminus of the North York Moors railway one of the most popular heritage lines in the country. Leaholm is another popular destination for a day out with and mini garden centre, Poets Cottage Shrub nursery, great tearooms and good circular walks.

While you can enjoy total peace and tranquility on our site we are surprisingly close to a casual night out .The Windmill pub in Stainsarce serves food 7 nights a week. It is a 15 minute walk through the woods. The Hare and Hounds at Hawsker and the Wilson Arms at Sneaton are also within walking distance cross country.

The famous Magpie Cafe has an amazing seafood selection and good vegetarian options too. In the Victorian part of town vegans can enjoy Cranberry Swamp, and Rusty Shears, is good for lunch, cake and gin. Marie Antoinette is a quaint tearoom in on the Abbey side. Harry's Lounge and the Moon and Sixpence are the places for cocktails overlooking the harbour. Pizza West on West Cliff is popular.

Penny Clare, just out of town on the Guisborough, arguably serves the best cakes ever. And does a great lunch including vegan and gluten free options. The place to stop en route in or out.
