About Calmwater Hideaway

Tucked away on the edge of the Pennines behind the heritage site of Ellenroad Steam Mill, our 6 glamping pods offer the perfect blend of countryside calm and city convenience. Just outside the charming village of Newhey, and within easy reach of both Manchester and Leeds, this is where you unwind.

Designed with our guests in mind, each pod is a private sanctuary—combining the charm of nature with the indulgence of boutique accommodation. Think plush bedding, sleek en-suites, and curated interiors that feel more spa retreat than campsite.

Step outside to your own decked terrace, complete with firepit, hot tub, and panoramic lodge side views—ideal for sipping wine under the stars or greeting the morning with a slow coffee. The site also offers secure private parking and electric gated access, ensuring peace of mind throughout your stay.

Booking Policy

  • Check-in: 16:00 (unless an early arrival has been organised)
  • Check-out: 11:00
  • Well behaved dogs, under 21 inches, are permitted in 2 of our pods for an additional charge, providing you keep them on a lead at all times and clean up after them
  • Fire pits are provided for each pod, campfires are only permitted in the fire pits, they must not be on the ground.  We ask that you only use our logs available to buy for £10/bag.
  • We ask you to respect the strict rules of the hot tub and ensure there is no glass used in or around the hot tub and no fake tan.  There are set or metal cups for use in the hot tub.
  • All bed linen and towels are provided
  • Swimming is not permitted in the fishing lake.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 30 days before the holiday date will be subject to your 30% non-refundable deposit paid.
  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the holiday start date will not be refunded.
  • We suggest you take out the necessary holiday insurance to cover any losses.
