The Owner Says

Rewild yourself in comfort
Our cosy showman’s carriage offers leafy seclusion in a tree-fringed meadow in the heart of the Sussex Weald. Watch the dawn filter through the leaves above your hammock. Feel the stream flow cool over dangled toes. Hear horses whinny and trains puff up the line. Smell the grill smoke from your outdoor kitchen. Nestle into cotton and silk to the hoot of owls.
In the ‘reading room’ nearby you can get back on the grid with high-speed internet or simply peruse our little library. Sweat it out in our pop-up sauna, order ice for the cold plunge or simply loaf in the hammock.
What is Ravenswyld?
We offer couples and solo souls looking to escape and recharge a secluded space steeped in the restorative power of natural surroundings.
You’ll be staying in the midst of a fledgling rewilding project; we’re turning about five acres of pasture over to diverse pockets of habitat to help nature flourish even more than it already does here, establishing a wildflower meadow, ponds, widened hedgerows, thorny scrub, coppice and orchard.

About Wealderness

Suitable For

We offer couples, and solo souls looking to escape and recharge a secluded space steeped in the restorative power of natural surroundings. The Shepherd's hut pitch is suited to two couples having a luxurious pump-up tent attached.

You'll be staying in a fledgling rewilding project called Ravenswyld - we're part of the Weald to Waves initiative, a 100-mile corridor of habitat from Ashdown Forest to the seashore and the kelp forest beneath the sea. Peace and nature abide at our site. Apart from the bird-song and the odd steam train it's quiet and serene with a only a few well-spaced pitches. You're in nature here - expect uneven ground, insect life and the odd bramble.

We also welcome small groups. We can set up a small group camp in the small meadow and also have facilities for small-scale retreats with a stretch tent that has power, mains water and Starlink  - please contact us directly to enquire about hiring the whole site.
