Hovering above the banks of the stream, your Tentsile is a hammock tent right in the middle of our rewilded wet woodland at the edge of a horse-grazed meadow. There's an awning with a camp kitchen, fire pit and barbecue. This is an experience for the more adventurous human willing to tackle uneven ground and to clamber up into bed at night.

The Owner Says

Watch the light filter through the branches above your hammock, feel the stream flow cool over dangled toes, hear the steam trains puff down the line, cook dinner on the wood stove and BBQ, smell the marshmallows toasting over the firepit, clamber into your flying tent among the trees and doze off to the hoot of owls. Bring your own sleeping bag and camping utensils or rent on site.
There is fresh water on demand nearby as well as exclusive use of your own composting loo.
For an extra fee, you can enjoy the pony trailer hot-tub or pop-up sauna tent and cold plunge at the retreat area nearby.
WiFi is available at the Reading Room and General Store pony trailer, in the retreat space.
This is a laid-back and serene 25-acre site, set next to a steam railway and surrounded by farmland with well-spaced pitches that afford privacy and seclusion.
We're part of the Weald to Waves rewinding initiative that is creating a 100-mile habitat corridor from the Ashdown Forest to the ocean.
