The Owner Says

A charming self-catered cottage that sleeps 4. The Coach House is Grade-2 listed and brings all the character of a period Victorian property with original windows, floorboards and other features. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed with a high quality mattress and topper to ensure a restful nights sleep. A smart TV, DVD player and two armchairs with further floor cushions and footstool are also provided in Bedroom 1, alongside an extensive library and DVD collection. The smaller Bedroom 2 is a twin (2 single beds). Downstairs there is a fully equipped Kitchenette with kitchen table to seat 4, an electric log burner and a small sofa. Also downstairs is a hallway and a large bathroom with shower. The Coach House is a quirky, dog-friendly, cosy space best suited to families with young children. The property is secluded, with views across our fields, and a very large and private garden/firepit/BBQ area plus a wood-fired Hot-Tub (surcharge applies). Please note that although plenty of seating is provided, there is NO separate sitting-room; it's a quirky '2-up 2-down'.

About Kingsettle Stud

Suitable For

Our site is particularly popular with young families and couples; although anyone keen on nature and particularly bird-watching will love the experience of staying on the Estate. The Coach House is dog-friendly and always popular for this reason. Lapwing Shepherd's Hut is a more luxurious experience perfectly suited to couples. The Bustard Cabin with it's secluded deck and bunk beds is a brilliant option for young families.

Nearby

The history of the area is hard to beat. Stonehenge is just around the corner, and a walk around our grounds alone will take you past 5000 year-old earthworks and burial mounds. Just last year a hoard of bronze-age axe-heads was found in one of our fields. In the wider area there are some world-class hikes to be discovered, taking in the famous white-horses of the Ridgeway, Avebury and Wansdyke to the north, or the New-Forest with it's wild ponies to the south. Finally, our area has some award-winning eateries and vine yards to be explored, particularly in Winchester and the villages surrounding the river Test (also great for a spot of wild-swimming!).

Food & Drink

The Malet Arms is a beautiful 40 minute walk away through the Estate (or 5 minute drive). It's a traditional Pub with a roaring fire, kitchen garden and locally sourced menu, and we always recommend it. It is also dog and family friendly. Slightly further afield there are numerous award-winning eateries, too many to mention, but foodies will enjoy a visit to the Red Lion in East Chisenbury or The Greyhound on the Test. Stockbridge is also a great option for delis, coffee and light lunches.
