About Bechan Retreats
Bechan Retreats holiday properties comprises of 4 Lodges/Cabins sited on Pant Farm, our 90 acre working beef & sheep farm. We are Located 2 miles from the bustling market town of Newtown and our location consists of rolling permanent pasture and ancient woodland. Pant Farm is the long term family farm and home of husband and wife Brian and Karen, and their two sons George and josh . Bechan Retreats became a vision and was born in 2019.
We pride ourselves on our warm welcome and strive to provide everything necessary to make your stay memorable. On arrival you will find tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits for after your journey. In addition toiletries will be waiting in the bathrooms. Our aim is to provide your best ever break. Hopefully, you’ll be booking to return before you have even left!
If pure relaxation is your goal, peace and tranquility are provided by all 4 properties. For example, visitors often comment that the only noise is the sound of birds and the brook. However, if a little more activity is on the menu, then we are perfectly placed to explore the stunning Welsh countryside. For instance, the coast, the mountains, the races, castles, stately homes, nature reserves, market towns and much more all less than an hour away.

Booking Policy
- Check-in from 15:00
- Check-out by 10:00. We can sometimes offer a later check out esp out of season . Please ask
- Well behaved dogs are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times and clean up after them. We do not allow dogs on the sofas or in the beds, so please bring their usual bedding with you. We provide a hose with warm water outside to wash your dogs if muddy. Please do not wash your dogs in the baths or showers in the properties.
- All bed linen and towels are included in the price. Any towels or bed linen that has to be disposed of due to stains will be charged for from your security deposit.
- Please be aware there is large pond on site, next to Kite's Nest and Bechan Brook runs through the farm. Please be aware of this and supervise children at all times
- As the balconies and verandas are enclosed ask you do not light any fires for safety reasons. The only permitted fires are in the fire Pits your accommodation may be provided with one . No candles.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made more than 30 days before the holiday start date will be subject to your 30% non-refundable deposit paid
- Cancellations made within 30 days of the holiday start date will not be refunded
- We suggest you take out the necessary holiday insurance to cover any losses

Stunning spotless peaceful
Absolutely spotless lodge, with stunning scenery, helpful staff and friendly owners. A great base to visit other areas of mid Wales.
PERFECTION
1.A beautiful lodge in the heart of Wales with stunning views across open, unspoilt countryside. 2.The lodge was top quality and super clean. It had everything we needed for a restful and peaceful break. Central heating on tap! The ‘romance pack’ was worth the little extra. 3. Brilliant Wi-Fi and TV services, if that’s what you need - we could always find a movie for the evening. 4. Loads of information on places to go/ things to do from the owners - who were superb communicators from booking through to the end of our stay 5. Log burner was awesome as we snuggled down in the living area in the evening !! 6. The hot tub was a joy - room for 6 - but a sheer indulgence for two- we maxed out use of this facility! A place we will visit again for sure. Totally recommend. As the postcode doesn’t quite get you there we would recommend what three words- perfect journey to the cabin door :)

No wonder you won 4 in a bed!
Picture perfect and reality perfect Fully equipped So relaxing, Lovely day at Powys castle Newtown, tesco and morrisons and aldi, to suit self catering. Nice pub or 2 for a beer, and a fantastic old man runs a superb quirky second hand shop on corner walking into town from car park. Slight gripe, hot tubs need screens (kingfisher). Can be seen from woodpecker bedroom. Woodpecker hot tub is open as you walk up path. The couple in woodpecker hot tub were a little uncomfy as we walked past from car park. Arriving in winter months and horrendous rain, is there no way we can drive to property to drop bags then move car. Other than that, perfect, and we will return

The Lodge had everything you need for a relaxing break. We wanted to use the log burner however, we discovered that there was no need as the heating made the place lovely and cosy. The hot tub was perfect, especially under the stars. I loved sitting on the decking watching the sun come up with a fresh brew whilst listening to the stream bubbling away, just perfect. We visited Newtown and Montgomery and had a meal at The Raven in Welshpool which was delicious.

Brilliant relaxing stay
My partner and I had an incredibly relaxing time at the Woodpecker cabin. It was very warm, cleans tidy upon entry. Thanks for the Christmas decorations. The views were great. We were near to Newtown for any supplies. We shall look to visit again. Many thanks.

Perfect Private cosy cabin!
This is one of the best cabins I have ever stayed in, it was so private and secluded from every day life, we didn’t see another person the whole time we were there! Which is exactly what we wanted and we forgot all of our troubles, we have come back totally relaxed and can’t wait to come back again ! The woodland next to the lodge is beautiful, the sheep and ponies in the field opposite made us smile and added some extra cuteness to our days! The bed is super comfy, lovely clean modern bathroom and perfect veranda/balcony around the cabin. The hot tub was the cherry on top to a perfect getaway, it was easy to use and soo lovely! I could not recommend it more! It was one of the best weekends, thank you for having us! :)

Perfect stay
Really nice place to stay lodge is really smart and clean. Hot tub was great and very clean. Really did not want to leave. Great morning walks through the woods. Also you’re in the middle of nowhere but close to Newtown works great. Many thanks for our stay really enjoyed it see u again soon

Peaace perfect peace
Far from home yet only a short drive over the Berwyns . Loved the dark skies and little to no road traffic. The accommodation was ideal ,clean ,tidy, comfortable and warm. Especially enjoyed the complimentary biscuits.

We loved Barn Owl Lodge
We thought the Lodge was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The bed was so comfy and I slept really well. My favourite time was when I was sitting on the veranda in the early morning. The peace, quiet and magnificent view was just awesome. Can’t wait to go back.
Perfect, peaceful, scenic & beautiful
I’m not one to leave reviews so me just writing this is a testament to how great Bechan Retreats is. The views, the animals, the cabins themselves everything was perfect and I will be back again in a few months to try one of the bigger cabins.

Gorgeous and tranquil
We arrived at Bechan Retreats for 3pm, it was self check in which is perfect! We were amazed by the peacocks just walking around outside the cabin! What a treat! - however we had the shock of our life when the female just up and flew on top of the cabin leaving poor Colin calling her for a while 🤣 It was also lovely to see the lambs in the adjacent field and ofcourse how could I forget about the cows over by the parking area. The hot tub was heated ready for use, we had biscuits and fresh milk in the lodge (loved this little touch) The interior is designed / decorated to perfection and the views are just out of this world. The sofa bed was extremely comfortable for the children especially with the mattress topper supplied too! We did the little treck up behind the cabin and around almost back to the entrance of the farm where the horses are. (Take some walking boots or wellies if it's been raining because it can get quite messy 🤣) ... But we put that outside tap to use and washed our muddy shoes before entering the cabin after. In all we had the most relaxing weekend we've ever had at a cabin even though it rained for quite a lot of it. We'd definitely stay again in the future. Thank you all x
Lovely lodge and hot tub!
Lodge is well situated above farm with a stunning view. Everything you might need is there. Everyone was very helpful and so friendly as were the animals! Even a cow came down a field to say hello and seemed to enjoy our fusses! Great hot tub. Great weather! Very hot. But found walk along river Severn in Newtown was fairly shaded and we had ice creams and a paddle to cool us down. Hope to return. Thank you
Beautiful Lodge with Stunning Views
We had a lovely three night stay at Barn Owl Lodge, surrounded by idyllic countryside. Everything was lovely and clean and had all the amenities we needed. The hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed and the log burner was perfect for keeping cosy. We loved being able to wonder round the farm and visiting the animals. We will definitely be returning next year!
A wonderful weekend!!
Thank you so much to Karen, Brian & Sarah for a wonderful and accommodating stay! My little ones loved taking a walk up to the farm and seeing the animals. The views were incredible from our lodge, the lodge and hot tub were clean and there was everything we needed for our few days away in the country. We even had a little bottle of fresh milk waiting for us. Definitely recommend staying at Bechan Retreats: beautiful, idyllic and so peaceful.
Fantastic views and immaculate
This lodge is a beautiful gem in a stunning location. Well furnished, the hosts have thought of all the little things that make your stay comfortable. Even extra logs for the fire! The beds were so soft and the hot tub was extra special. We even did some star gazing! Really couldn’t fault it, we’d love to return.
Prefect for a relaxing break
This was a last minute booking for a few days away but it won't be our last, Very relaxing, so peaceful and the views from the hot tub and lodge are stunning. The lodge has everything you need, is very cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Perfect for a break any time of the year and our elderly dog did not want to leave! The owners and team are very helpful and the lodge was immaculate. I know the area well and there is so much to do around here and some great places to eat if you are here for a bit longer. 10 out of 10!
Just wat we needed.
My wife and I needed a weekend away, so glad we chose Bechan Retreats. The cabin was wonderful and clean. Hot Tub was just what we needed. Highly recommended.

Scenic, luxurious and peaceful
Our favourite accommodation of the last 4 years and one we will definitely be revisiting. The view is captivating, the Lodge is spacious, comfortable and private. If I had to be picky the wifi was slow at times and the shower lacks pressure but neither would stop be coming back.
Peaceful
Beautiful 2 night stay at The Woodpecker for the lads to go play golf at St Giles while the girlie's and Storm 🐶 walked to them cross country, the weather was lovely which made it so much more enjoyable! The hot tub was so needed by the time we all got back. Lovely place to stay just to unwind for the weekend 👌
Scenic retreat
Beautiful scenery to enjoy in a peaceful spot. We enjoyed being greeted by the cows and horses each morning and sitting watching the wildlife at night, either on the decking or in the hot tub. A quiet place to truly switch off.

Gorgeous lodge in a beautiful setting
Me , my friend and our 2 children enjoyed a weekend in the barn owl lodge, the lodge and hot tub is great with beautiful views, thank you for a lovely stay. We would definitely love to visit again 😊

We had a lovely family visit this weekend with our children. Fabulous cottage, great facilities, all very clean and comfy! Would highly recommend.

Myself and Michael loved being away from hustle and bustle of work and homelife in such a peaceful and tranquile place . Kites nest was just perfect and dogs loved the paddock to run around and explore .We all enjoyed spending qaulity time together as a family and grandkids loved the animals at the farm and Sam the dog was very friendly .
PERFECT
Thank you for the most peaceful “mini break” in the woodpecker. This lodge had everything we needed inside it, along with the astonishing views and tranquility outside. We all loved the views of horses, sheep and cows in the distance! The hot tub was an extra perk too. Honestly, if you’re looking for a place to stay in wales, please consider this lovely retreat! We will definitely be planning a future trip back here. 🐴🐑🐄
Tranquil and peaceful
Beautiful setting. Enjoyed watching the wild life and being able to relax. Had everything we wanted and more. Would highly recommend to family and friends, definitely 5 stars.
Kites Nest Lodge - First visit
First visit but will definitely be back. Absolutely stunning location with amazing views. Kites Nest has everything you need on arrival from the pint of milk for that welcome cup of tea to the biscuits to enjoy with. The complimentary bottle of Prosecco was well enjoyed later after settling in. It was great to sit out and watch the Kites flying and listen to the birds singing. So peaceful, best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time.On the way we called in Tesco Welshpool for our supplies and didn’t need to use the car until we left. Recommend going for a walk in the woods behind as was great, good walk and got you moving, outdoor shoes needed. We enjoyed the tranquil surrounding to sit on the decking and read or do absolutely nothing. Thank you Karen and Bryan for a fantastic stay , you thought of everything that anyone might need on their stay. 😊
Beautiful break away.
Just spent a lovely few days at the Kingfisher. The lodge was very homely and had everything we needed. We loved the hot tub too. The scenery around is beautiful. We can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful location, very relaxing and imaculate Lodge, very nice inside.
Came for my daughters 21st, her first outing since she took ill at the age of 14. She is restricted with her mobility so we had to stay in most days, it was relaxing and we had a delightful time in the lodge. A huge Thank you to the owners, it was worth every penny.

Absolute bliss
This is our second trip to the lodges - the area is out of the way, tranquil and absolutely gorgeous. The perfect getaway from the city life we usually lead. Clean and everything you could need, the hot tub is a great addition to the lodge. Although any attractions or areas to visit are out of the way - the lodges are somewhere peaceful to return to after a busy day. The owners are attentive but not obtrusive. Perfect 👌🏼
