Puddle Cottage was built in 1849 and has been renovated to a high standard providing the mod cons to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The cottage has one very comfortable first floor bedroom which can be laid out to offer either one super king size bed or two full sized single beds. The bedroom is equipped with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, and bedside tables with bedside lights. There is also a dressing area with a full length mirror. The recently refitted bathroom has a shower over the bath, mirror and heated towel rail.
The ground floor sitting room is perfect for a cosy evening. There is an open log fire, comfortable sofa (which can also be used as a double sofa bed), armchair, as well as a large flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player. A selection of games, books and information on the local area are also provided for you to enjoy. WIFI is also provided for our guests to use free of charge.
If the weather allows, why not relax in the cottage garden, where a garden table and chairs are provided on a patio area, and fresh herbs are grown.
The refurbished ground floor kitchen, which overlooks the garden, is very well equipped and includes an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a dining area with table and chairs. Don’t worry about packing the cooking essentials as you will find some of the basics ready for you such as tea and coffee, sugar, kitchen roll and washing up liquid.

The cottages, which are adjacent to each other, are just a short walking distance to the shores of Rutland Water, the sailing club and walking distance to Rutland Water Fishing Lodge. The village has a lovely village shop and pub both within walking distance.
Within 8 miles of Puddle Cottage also lie the market towns of Oakham, Stamford and Uppingham, making the cottages the ideal place to explore all that Rutland has to offer. The location also provides a perfect base if you are visiting the area for a wedding as popular venues such as Normanton Church, Burghley House, Rutland Hall Hotel and ‘The Barnsdale’ as well as Rockingham Castle are nearby.
