Offering you that bit more than our existing couple's lodges (Sunset & Willow) in lots of ways and to the same high standards with a few extra luxuries like a double shower and double sinks in the bathroom, as well as a fully-fitted kitchen. A covered balcony so you can enjoy relaxing in your wood-fired hot tub whatever the weather for the ultimate comfortable back to nature experience!
Also space for an infant (under 12 months) in a  travel cot - perfect for baby's first holiday!

Many local beaches including the locals favourite - Fraisthorpe, an untamed stretch of soft, sandy beach (with the lovely Cow Shed Cafe), which you can walk on for miles, reaching the hugely popular Bridlington South beach to the North and towards the seaside town of Hornsea if you head South. Hornsea has a buzzing creative community with numerous independent places to shop, eat & drink, and a small museum showcasing small town life through the years, as well as the famous Hornsea Pottery history and designs.

Stunning coastal areas including Flamborough Headland with its many coves and caves is where you can see the seals every day, puffins from April to July and even dolphins if you're really lucky! A short drive north of there is Bempton Cliffs RSPB Nature Reserve with a great visitors centre and cafe.

A 30 min drive gets you to Hull. The UK City of Culture in 2017 boasts a bustling marina, charming Hepworth's Arcade and the recently regenerated Humber Street. The latter is now a music and arts hub on the site of the historic fruit market where your host family first started selling the farm’s potatoes many years ago!  Here you will also find The Deep Aquarium.

Other attractions include the numerous museums and galleries around the Old Town, plus the iconic Humber bridge. En route to Hull, the town of Beverley is a lively market town full of stylish, independent shops and restaurants. Home to one of Europe's finest Gothic churches, Beverley Minster (01482 868540).

Food & Drink

There are plenty of great places around Brandesburton village to eat. Bert’s (01964 541809) is a very popular venue for everything from coffee and cake in the morning to a special evening meal – fantastic food with an Italian twist, family-friendly and set on a stunning lakeside location. Also on site next to Bert's is their snack kiosk at Adventure Golf where you can enjoy a less formal eating occasion, with paninis, coffees and Bert's homemade gelato.

For a good pub (with massive food portions) try The Dacre Arms (01964 542392) - it's a good option for a weekend cooked breakfast too. The Black Swan, Brandesburton, The New Inn Leven (01964 542223 and The Duke of York (01964 500300) also offer decent pub grub. In Brandesburton there is Costcutters convenience store (7am–8pm; 01964 543480) and village store (6am–8pm). Archers Deli (01964 541544) is the local’s favourite for sausage rolls, pies, freshly made to order sandwiches and sweet treats, while In Leven (the next nearest village) there's Charter’s Butchers (01964 543480).

Brandesburton Pizza Takeaway provides excellent stone-baked pizzas, as well as burgers, kebabs, wraps and more.
