About Roundwood Dell
Suitable For
Our lower ‘Dell’ camping area is car-free but don’t worry – our team of friendly staff will be on hand to help you take your tents and equipment down to the site using our onsite ‘gator’. Please be aware though, there are several steps or a slope up to the showers/bar and restaurant area and car park so this area is not suitable for everyone particularly those with mobility issues. There are 10 grass pitches with electric hook up and water. The Barn is also located in this area.
Our upper ‘Glade’ camping area has just 7 pitches, 3 of which are gravel-based and can accommodate campervans/small motorhomes (up to 7m). We also accept trailer tents/roof-top tents on these pitches. However, please note, we do not have any facilities to dispose of chemical toilet waste or grey water. There is a short walk to the showers but there are no steps involved. The car park is just next door to this area.
Caravans are not permitted anywhere on the site.
Well-behaved dogs are permitted on all areas of the campsite but must be kept on a lead at all times due to the presence of protected wildlife at the site.
Nearby
The local area is well suited for those looking for a more active break. Walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and those looking for a more active break will find plenty of activities within close proximity. Norfolk’s beaches, The Broads, the city of Norwich and all of the top tourist attractions are within easy reach of the site that is centrally located within the county and both families and adult-only visitors will not find themselves short of places to visit throughout their stay.
Taverham, is ideally suited for exploring everything Norfolk has to offer. Roundwood Dell is next to Wensum Valley golf course and their foot golf offering is one that appeals to our families. Or if crazy golf is your preferred option, Congo Rapids is only a short drive away.
Within a mile of the site is Taverham Mill nature reserve and Ringland Green where you can launch your canoe/paddle board and explore the River Wensum.
Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure, Pensthorpe Natural Park and Bewilderwood are some of Norfolk's top attractions and all within easy driving distance from Roundwood as well as some of Norfolk's smaller attractions.
Norwich is only 7 miles away and easily accessible by car or bus and here you can explore the wide range of shops or visit the Castle and Cathedral. Norwich Market and Norwich Lanes both provide unique shopping/eating experiences with many independent shops thriving in the city.
For those of you with bikes, why not head onto the Marriotts Way? Passing through Taverham, this cycle route follows a disused railway line. You can either head towards Norwich or towards the North Norfolk town of Aylsham and there is plenty of wildlife to spot along the way.
The North Norfolk coast is just over 30 minutes drive away and here you can try crabbing in Cromer, rock pooling in West Runton or bird-watching on Cley Marshes.
Our friendly staff are knowledgeable about the local area and can help you plan your days out and our website contains further information and links to local attractions.
