About Heronsdale Manor Farm
Suitable For
If you love the countryside, walking and nature, then we are a small campsite with plenty to do. Walk the dog to the pub for a pint of local beer. Take the kids for a cycle ride to the coast on the nearby Cuckoo Trail, or head to a nearby National Trust venue. Or just observe and listen to the Sussex countryside at its best whilst reading a book in the peace and tranquillity.
Nearby
There are lovely walks around the farm and the surrounding countryside. It’s a 20-minute walk to the village of Waldron, where there’s a pretty village church, a cricket ground and a pub. The Sussex villages of Chiddingly and East Hoathly are about an hour’s walk (both around three miles from site). For more shops, eateries and sights head to Lewes, a 15-minute (11 mile) drive from site. You can visit the outdoor Pells Pool, Lewes Castle, the Harvey’s Brewery shop and lots of secondhand book and antiques dealers. For longer walks or mountain biking, try the 14-mile Cuckoo Trail or for stunning views, head to the top of the South Downs and the South Downs Way. At the Seven Sisters Country Park (0345 6080193), you can also kayak and paddleboard with Buzz Active (01323 491289) on the River Cuckmere.
