A secluded campervan pitch in our former quarry with its own decking area, compost toilet and firebowl.

The Owner Says

Want something a little different? Why not treat yourselves to a stay at our premium spot for campervans. Nestled in our sheltered former quarry, surrounded by trees and wildlife (look out for the tawny owl in the willows!), this is a tranquil spot where you can enjoy the luxury of your own campervan and the extra facilities we have provided to enhance your stay.

This pitch has its own bespoke decking area with comfortable wooden chairs, (made from reclaimed wood), a table, and a fire bowl –we have logs for sale at the farmhouse or you can bring your own of course. There are also some twinkly solar lights which come on automatically at dusk to give you that holiday ambience.

Simply pull up alongside the decking, open your side door, and relax.

This pitch comes with its own private compost toilet, and you have full use of the rest of the facilities on the campsite including the solar shower block and roundhouse where you can wash dishes or just relax and enjoy the view.

Bring a second camper!

Travelling with friends? There is room on this pitch for more than one campervan, so why not bring friends along too! (cost - extra £38 per night for two). As above, if you want to do this please get in touch with us directly.

Rent our fully furnished campervan!

For a completely luxurious camping experience for two, why not rent our beautiful campervan in the quarry for your stay? It comes with a 5ft wide bed, 2 ring gas cooker and sink, everything you need for preparing and eating meals, a powered USB socket, 20L of water (and more if needed) and of course a beautifully crafted interior. We will also provide bedding and towels for you. There is no shower in the van, but you are free to use the campsite showers a short walk away. As mentioned above, you have your own private space with decking, table and chairs, firebowl and compost toilet, and you can park your car nearby.

About Ffosygrafel Isaf Camping

Suitable For

Our site has eight circular pitches for tents (max 6 people per pitch) and three hard standing pitches for campervans (sorry no large motorhomes or caravans due to access limitations). Also on site is a shepherd's hut handcrafted by the owners for a little more luxury. It has it's own spiral shower and compost loo. Well behaved dogs are allowed on the campsite but not in the shepherd's hut. There is a car parking area next to the campsite with trolleys provided to ferry your camping stuff to your pitch.

Nearby

Borth beach and Ynyslas sand dunes and nature reserve are just 3 miles away and the popular Clarach beach is 2.5 miles. You can reach the Wales coastal path by foot in half an hour. Other local attractions include the Dyfi Osprey Project, the bustling market town of Machynlleth (15 miles), Corris Craft Centre, the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway, Bwlch Nant yr Arian red kite feeding centre and visitor centre. Aberystwyth town (3 miles) has a castle, thriving arts centre, cliff railway with camera obscura at the top, shops, restaurants etc. 

Food & Drink

In Aberystwyth, get delicious food at the deli Ultra Comida and wholefoods at Maeth y Meysydd. Medina serves the best coffee in town and also has a superb restaurant. The Bottle and Barrel, and the Bank Vaults (with music venue) have some excellent beers on tap and pride themselves on independence and quality.
In Borth, the hidden gem Uncle Albert's Ice cream Emporium is an excellent vegetarian cafe (the ice cream is home made!) And the Victoria Inn is one of the few beachside pubs in the country - the best place for a pub meal and a sundowner! Also in Borth is a delicious Tandoori restaurant and takeaway - 'Borth Tandoori'.
