Ty Mamgu (7 at Nantgwynfaen Organic Farm)
UK Wales Mid Wales Ceredigion Coed-y-Bryn Nantgwynfaen Organic Farm
The Owner Says
Ty Mamgu means Grandma’s house in Welsh - a charming wooden cabin & a romantic retreat for two.
Sleep in a super comfy king size bed with soft pillows & crisp white cotton sheets. Lie back in bed & watch the lambs under cosy Welsh woollen blankets. Slip into your slippers and curl up in front of the log burner or warble around the piano. Contemplate original art & flowers from the garden, cook some fresh organic eggs from the farm & listen to the peace.
Sip something bubbly on the veranda while watching swallows dive & red kites chase buzzards down the valley. Warm your knees by a campfire & wonder at stars that you have never seen before in such a dark sky.
Find yourself enjoying the simple life you know you yearn for at Ty Mamgu.

There's a host of good beaches and an array of great walking routes, while further south the Pembrokeshire Coast Path takes in the best of the National Park and its dramatic coastline, as does the longer Wales Coast Path. The National Wool Museum (free entry) is a short drive from the farm, while Newcastle Emlyn is 10 minutes away and boasts the ruins of a 13th century castle, good restaurants, and a country market every Friday. Food & Drink
There's a farm shop on site specialising in local and organic produce. Ken can make a loaf of flower pot bread to order. A couple of miles down the road lies The Daffodil Inn (01559 370343) at Penrhiwllan, a cracking gastropub (listed in the Michelin Guide) with stunning views of the Teifi Valley countryside from its dining room. Teifi Cheese Farm is very nearby and is a lovely place to stock up on local cheese and buy award winning botanical and seaweed gin from their organic distillery (book to go on a distillery tour). Cardigan is a great place to eat in. Buy local crab and other delicacies from the Tuesday Market in St Dogmaels then eat at Pizza Tipi, Crwst, Bara Menyn (amazing sour dough) and El Salsa Mexican street food (you might need a couple of trips!). Fantastic fresh organic vegetables are grown at Glebelands Market Garden (Thurs-Sat) at St Dogmaels. There is a very nice well stocked village shop at Penrhiwllan Stores. More places to eat are listed on our website or can be emailed on request.
