Amroth Beach and Pendine Beach are the closest beaches (less than 15 minutes by car) – the former is easily accessed from the road, the latter is a vast sand beach popular that's great for long walks. Llansteffan (30 minutes drive) has a lovely beach, too, as well as it's own impressive ruined castle, while the literature town of Llaugharne is home to the Dylan Thomas Boathouse (01994 427420), where the poet once lived. The National Trust-owned Colby Woodland Gardens (01834 811885; 15-minute drive) and the Stackpole Estate (30 minutes) are both close by, while the harbour town of Tenby has its fair share of history too.
