Tucked away in its own private hollow beneath an oak tree and hidden behind high hedges, The Ryeland Retreat is a unique off-grid hobbit-style hideaway designed exclusively for couples seeking peace, privacy, and total escapism.
Powered by solar and wind energy, this quirky retreat blends eco-friendly living with comfort and romance. Inside, twinkling fairy lights, cosy interiors, and a traditional log-burning stove create a magical atmosphere perfect for switching off from the busy modern world.
Inside, you’ll find a traditional log-burning stove to keep you toasty warm on chillier evenings — perfect for curling up with a hot chocolate after a day exploring the countryside 🔥
Outside, a private gravelled area surrounds your Scandinavian-style wood-fired hot tub, complete with sun loungers, bench seating, fairy lights, and lanterns that create a wonderfully romantic atmosphere once the sun goes down ✨
There’s also a BBQ, fire pit, and pizza oven — imagine sitting beneath the stars watching the sunset, toasting marshmallows over the fire before sinking into the steaming hot tub and counting satellites drifting overhead 🌙
The Ryeland now features a bespoke king-size bed, an indoor bathroom with super-hot shower and eco-friendly composting loo, plus a quirky hobbit-style kitchen complete with cooker, sink, fridge, pots, pans, and all essentials for your stay.
In the evenings relax in your own private Scandinavian-style wood-fired hot tub, surrounded by lanterns, fairy lights, sun loungers, and open countryside views. There’s also a BBQ, fire pit, and pizza oven — perfect for alfresco dining beneath the stars ✨

🚫 Group bookings of 2 or more adults are not permitted (except couples and immediate family members).

🔥 Each unit also has its own designated honesty cupboard where additional logs, kindling, and essentials can be purchased during your stay.
