About Crockstead Fields
Suitable For
Unfortunately pets are not allowed on site due to the influx of horses in the adjoining fields. Group booking are certainly allowed and we are happy to book out the full site for specific groups, setting up additional extras such as catering, music and other forms of entertainment. If booking on a regular weekend we would ask that any group bookings take into account the needs of other guests on site so the general T's and C's on noise restrictions etc would apply.Nearby
LOCAL WALKS
Check out the following link for some great local walking routes: https://www.komoot.com/guide/736409/hiking-around-east-hoathly-with-halland
STAVERTON NURSERY
Our closest neighbours are a local garden centre about half a mile down the road, turning left out of the main entrance. You can walk there but it’s a pretty hairy trip along the main road. Anyway, they are a great go to for a few basic supplies - milk, fruit, veg, bacon and lots of crisps, chocolate and cake (and plants obviously). There is also a great little cafe here - not super cheap but has a fantastic menu.
BLACKSMITHS ARMS
Wander on about the same distance again and you’ve hit your first boozer. Fairly cosy little traditional pub, placed on a fairly busy roundabout but with a little beer garden out back. The food is pretty decent and the staff are great.
THE GREEN MAN
Now, if you are looking for a very short pub crawl you can now nip back across the roundabout and follow the road just to the left of the Blacksmith Arms. This will take you on an hour long walk (mobility dependent) to the Green Man in Ringmer. This is a pretty decent pub with a roomy beer garden and a dependable menu.
ABYSS MICRO BREWERY
Ok you really think you can handle another drink? What if you have to walk for another hour to get it? Well in that case you’d better get up and crack on walking away from Buffalo Bill’s and towards Lewes where you will come across this delightful little micro brewery. Great beer selections, quality cocktail list and Mexican street. Worth the extra bop for sure, and now you’re in Lewes there is an exhaustive list of other activities to choose from.
HIGHLANDS INN
At this point you may well be thinking ‘does this place have anything apart from pubs’ - this is the last one I promise. We will have to insist on your use of a vehicle for this one as it’s a right old trek by foot but deserves an honourable mention on account of it’s excellent homely setting, great selection of drinks and quite superb food menu.
