Drovers Hill at Stonor
Stonor, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG9 6JL 01491 638 587
In the heart of the Chilterns, just an hour from London, Stonor Park has been home to the Stonor family for over 850 years, making it one of the oldest family homes still lived in today. As the oldest member of the Stonor family, Stonor Park has a thousand stories to tell and is proud host to 2021’s BBC1 Antiques Roadshow.
With a history stretching back to the 12th century, Stonor House is architecturally fascinating, each room containing many lifetimes of experiences and anecdotes. Housing art and treasures collected from across the globe, as well as historic maps and documents that reveal generations of service to the country by the Stonor family, a stroll through the house is a vivid walk through history.
Set in a dramatic, sweeping valley, the lush parkland of Stonor lies deep in the heart of the Chiltern Hills. We invite visitors to explore our three beautiful gardens, from the ponds and fountains of the 17th century Italianate Pleasure Garden to the old Kitchen Garden, with its 140m herbaceous border and eclectically tree-lined Ladies Walk.
