The slightly larger of our two distinguished drovers’ huts, Quercus is a sumptuous oak cabin with a stunning handcrafted four-poster bed at its heart. It has a barbecue and firepit for relaxed summer evenings and a wood burning stove to keep you cosy in winter.

In designing the interior of Quercus, former Sibyl Colefax and John Fowler designer Sophie Stonor has thought of everything, from the beautifully finished kitchen – complete with Nespresso machine and pull-out Fisher & Paykel dishwasher – to the delightful ensuite bathroom with handmade crackle-glaze tiled shower and piping hot high-pressure showers. You’ll even find a Dyson hairdryer in the hang-cupboard.

Suitable For

Drovers Hill at Stonor Park is an incredibly luxurious and romantic setting and have been designed to cater for busy professionals wanting a quiet, peaceful space to unwind after a busy week in the city. Both our huts are equipped with a King size bed and are designed for 2 people sharing. They are regretably not suitable to include children.

We love our dogs too, but sadly at this time, dogs are not allowed within the Shepherds Huts as the space is quite small and if you are exploring and adventuring, the dogs could get quite mucky, with little space for cleaning.

Beautiful Stonor Valley is criss-crossed with some of the best walking and cycling routes in the country, making it a haven for walkers and cyclists. Two famous footpaths run through Stonor Park – Shakespeare’s Way and the Chiltern Way – so why not enjoy the Chilterns on foot or pedal and end up at a picturesque brick and flint pub?

Whether you’d like to try your hand at mushroom foraging, falconry, wildlife photography, duck herding, hot air ballooning, or clay pigeon shooting, we can make it happen to make your stay extra special. .

We can arrange VIP experiences for you at many of the events we’re proud to host, including the famous Giffords Circus, outdoor cinema, various car events and perhaps a concert. When you don’t feel like cooking, amble down the hill and enjoy authentic Italian Neapolitan pizzas from the Gozney pizza oven at Tumblestone Hollow Adventure Playground. Our Italian pizza chef Salvatore Di Giacomo cooks his delicious pizzas with fresh ingredients from Italy and from our own vegetable garden. Savour them under our giant canvas tipi or take them back to your hut.

With five pubs within an hour’s walk and many more a hop away by car, you’ll have plenty of choice for dining out. From cheese toasties at The Cheese Shed in Nettlebed to the finest dining at Raymond Blanc’s Manoir aux Quat Saison or Tom Kerridge’s Michelin-starred restaurants in nearby Marlow, there’s somewhere wonderful for every mood and occasion.
