The Owner Says

Cherry Hill Pitch - One of only 3, nearly-wild, off-grid camping pitches, and the only one accessible for campervans. Perfect for mid size campers and car camping.  Located in a small glade, among the trees... just at the top of our valley on the farm. Our camping pitches are fairly flexible and sited amongst ponds, mature trees  and meadows. We guarantee dark skies at night and plenty of space to roam freely.  Simple and back to nature camping!  Outdoor seating and fire pit are provided.
The wash shack, with shared flushing toilets and hot showers,  is located short stroll down in the valley. Access to mains water and washing up facilities are also available there.
Please bring good torches and power banks with you, as we are off-grid,  we are happy to refreeze your ice blocks and charge any power banks or similar for you but there is no mains electricity at the camp. We use solar powered lights and fairy lights around the site.
We are certified The Greener Camping Club site and are committed to run a quiet, family-friendly and sustainable campsite, with no crowds and low impact on surrounding environment.  This means we are keeping things to certain standards and are audited by the club annually. If you aren't a member yet, there is a small fee of £12 payable at the time of booking (one per booking). It gives you access to many amazing campsites for the season and as a bonus we receive a tree to plant in the Autumn per each new member we introduce!
Unfortunately we currently don't accept stag/hen parties or louder gatherings but are open for family get togethers and similar ( please note noise policy)
Minimum stay - 2 nights. Flexible check in day,  arrivals are between 4pm-7pm unless otherwise arranged.  Check out is by 12:00 noon.
Pitch is fairly flexible and  fairly level ( as level as the nature let us create without too much disturbance to environment, so do please bring some levelling blocks for your van), will fit a large tent or a small campervan.
You are welcome to bring your own firewood or purchase some on site.
Along the three camping pitches, we also offer stays in our two fully set up and furnished bell tents and a small shepherd's hut.
We are looking forward to meeting you.

Food & Drink

We are a short journey from Ross-On-Wye  - a beautiful market town with a galore of coffee shops, gift shops, Truffles Deli, Rossiters - amazing book shop, Hank's Meat And game Butchers, TOY BOX toy shop,  galleries and ‘Made in Ross’ local crafts and arts centre located in the 16th century Market House. A must to visit! (Visit Ross-On-Wye guide)

Ross offers a great choice of eateries and coffee shops. Our favourite are most definitely:  Truffles Deli and Garden Shed – Engine Room – which serve THE BEST coffee – locally roasted and ground James Gourmet! (you must try if you are a bit of a ‘coffee snob’ like us).

Our favourite restaurants and take away venues in town include No3, King’s Head, Avelino (Italian) and Rice Berry (Thai). If you fancy a rural pub grub – why not try our locals - the classic Weston Cross in Weston-under-Penyards or the newly refurbished with traditional but modern vibe - The Crown Inn in Lea (10% off for our guests too)  Or venture slightly further afield to The Mill Race in Walford, the Alma Inn in Linton or the Moody Cow in Upton Bishop.

We also highly recommend The Bakehouse cafe in Longhope, Orchard Café in Gorsley and Hen and Dot café Kerne Bridge/Walford.

Why not browse some local shops while you here  -  Lizzie Bunting, the Architectural Shop, Rossiters, The Crows feet… just to name a few!
